Details

This training course will provide participants with an awareness of the main legal aspects of supporting people living with dementia including housing and neighbourhood officers managing tenancy issues and support and sheltered staff. The course is suitable for frontline staff and managers, including those responsible for delivering on policies, procedures and strategies.

Objectives

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Define their responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Including:

  1. The application of the five principles

  2. Capacity assessments

  3. Best interest decision making

  4. Signing of tenancies

  5. Awareness of Powers of Attorney

  • Explain their responsibilities under the Care Act and the Equality Act

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

We welcome you to attend the other courses in this series, however this is not obligatory.
