Common Data Framework
The Common Data Framework guidance for housing related support for 2012/13 can be found here. This guidance has been developed following Sitra’s consultation into the future of Supporting People data, an expert reference group of providers and commissioners were involved in the devlopement of the framework guidance.
The Common Data Framework provides a comprehensive list of data items to be collected for housing related support and other low level preventative services. The data collected provides data for commissioners, providers and clients.
National data framework
Sitra has released the national data framework. The framework can be found here.
National data provides valuable information for providers, commissioners, service users and umbrella bodies. The data can be used:
- To provide evidence to central and local government of the need for and impact of investment in these services
- To provide benchmarking and service comparisons for commissioners, providers and clients
- To provide data to help local and national planning of investment in housing related support services.
Centre for Housing Research at the University of St Andrews
Sitra has been working closely with the Centre for Housing Research at the University of St Andrews to implement some of the recommendations of the consultation on the client records and outcomes. The respondents to the data consultation recognised the key role of the Centre for Housing Research in the collection of client records and outcomes data for housing related support. Sitra believes that submitting and collecting this data through the Centre for Housing Research gives access to valuable data for local service development as well as for regional and national comparisons. We recommend that the Centre for Housing Research continues to be used for client records data and outcomes data collection in 2012/13.
