the use of injunctions by housing providers
Sitra, in partnership with Bevan Brittan LLP, is delighted to be running a series of regional briefings on the use of injunctions by housing providers.
In the current austere environment landlords need to make best use of all the legal tools available to bring a cost effective solution to housing management problems.
Injunctions have been available for a number of years by housing providers where urgent action is required e.g. anti-social behaviour or landlords needing to enforce a term of the occupancy agreement. Recent changes in legislation and court attitudes have enabled injunctions to provide a swift and effective remedy for landlords.
This half day briefing will cover:
- Advantages and disadvantages of injunctions
- Injunctions to prevent nuisance and annoyance (ASB, Crime and Policy Act 2014)
- Injunctions to compel occupants to give access or allow the landlord to force entry
- Application processes
