Sitra has a number of training courses that can support providers and commissioners ensure these vulnerable groups of people are provided with quality services.

The National Mental Health Development Unit and Department of Communities and Local Government have published non statutory guidance describing effective ways of recognising and meeting the psychological and emotional needs of people with complex needs.  See www.nmhdu.org.uk/complextrauma

The Governments cross departmental work on tackling multiple disadvantage is now lead by the Department of Work and Pensions.  A recent project is being championed by the Cabinet Office who are setting up Local Inclusion Laboratories on tackling multiple disadvantage see http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/resource-library/becoming-resolving-multiple-disadvantage-local-inclusion-lab-area

The National Housing Federation has produced a publication on the role housing association can play in tackling multiple disadvantage (PSA 16). See www.housing.org.uk

The National Mental Health Development Unit have produced seven short documents with key facts and figures on mental health and also a resource on planning mental health services for young people which support successful transition.

The College of Medicine has established a homeless health faculty which is an independent multi-disciplinary body focusing on the health care of homeless people.  Members include The London Pathway which is run be a specialist GP and Nurse who co-ordinate care of homeless people across departments of University College London Hospital and post discharge.  Alex Bax the CEO of The London Partnership facilitated a workshop on GP commissioning for people with multiple disadvantage at Sitra's Health, Housing and Employment Event in London on the 9th December 2011.
