Our mission
Sitra champions excellence in housing, support and care.
Sitra is a membership organisation providing leadership, influencing policy through expertise, promoting best practice and providing consultancy, training, information and advice to:
- Promote positive outcomes for clients, providers and funders

- Encourage a healthy, diverse and sustainable sector
- Support quality and professionalisation.
About us
We are a membership organisation and a registered charity with over 25 years experience of offering practitioners a range of affordable policy, training, information, conference and capacity building services.
Our membership comprises of practitioners in the field of housing with care and support.
We operate throughout England, and have offices in London, Birmingham and Bristol.
Our work covers all aspects of supported housing, together with associated activities such as human resources and staffing issues, financial management, and community care. We are recognised and consulted by government departments and other bodies as representatives of providers of housing with care and support.
Sitra is perhaps best known as a leading training provider in the sector. We also provide a range of seminars and conferences on supported housing related themes.
The monthly Sitra bulletin is widely recognised as a key source of technical information and policy development news throughout the supported housing sector. With a circulation of around 3,000, it is the most widely distributed specialist publication within the supported housing sector.
We supplement the bulletin with regular briefings on matters relating to supported housing and its related fields.

2010 was a turbulent year for the sector and Sitra has been working with members, central and other statutory partners to engage fully with the changing environment.

Join us
Sitra membership
Membership of Sitra is open to voluntary agencies, supported housing associations and small housing associations, statutory bodies, general needs housing associations, service user groups and private consultants and trainers.
Our aim is to provide policy makers and practitioners with accurate, up to date and timely information on all areas of supported housing and related issues.
Sitra is regularly consulted by Government on all supported housing matters. Our close links with providers, commissioners, funders and policy makers make Sitra well placed to lobby for positive change and make our members’ voices heard – both at a local and national level.
We ensure that the sector is provided with speedy and accurate information about the implications of policy changes, and lobby for outcomes which allow our members to provide better services to the people who use them.

Through events, workshops, research and direct work with central and local government, service users, providers and commissioners we champion excellence in housing, support and care – focusing on strategic engagement, personalisation, procurement and commissioning practice.
