Adam Knight-Markiegi - Policy Officer (West Midlands)

Adam joined Sitra in October 2008 and is based in the West Midlands region. His regional work includes representing supported housing providers on the West Midlands Supporting People Regional Information Group and Regional Chairs Group. While at Sitra Adam has also worked on a project to measure the costs and benefits of service user involvement and he has taken part in validation visits around the new Supporting People Quality Assessment Framework (QAF).

Adam was previously a Senior Consultant at Ecotec Research and Consulting, managing consultancy projects for central and local government and the third sector. He worked extensively around the private rented sector as well as projects on older people. Examples include: measuring the outcomes, costs and success factors of private rented sector access schemes in London for Crisis and the London Housing Foundation; evaluating specialist housing for older people across Wales for the Welsh Assembly Government; and helping Southwark Council improve its allocation process to council-run and RSL sheltered housing.

Before that, Adam was Information and Policy Officer at the National Rent Deposit Forum, an umbrella group for rent deposit schemes. He has an MSc in Housing Research and Policy from the University of Birmingham, is a practitioner member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and a member of the Housing Studies Association.
