Payment by Results
The government hopes that Payment by Results will improve services and direct public money to the best performing providers. Many government departments are rolling it out, including the Department of Health, Department for Work and Pensions, Department for Communities and Local Government and Ministry of Justice. Service providers are increasingly facing the challenges of this approach when bidding for funding for advice services, prevention of reoffending services or welfare to work sub-contracts. Now the government wants to see how Payment by Results can work in housing support services and is piloting the approach in 10 local authority areas across England.
This half-day event will look at what Payment by Results means for housing support services. It will outline the government’s plans, unpick the key issues raised by Payment by Results (including defining and measuring results and the impact of performance rewards or penalties on organisations) and look at the opportunities and risks posed. It will include speakers who are piloting different models in housing support services and those testing it in other government agencies (eg the Ministry of Justice or National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse). It is suitable for commissioners and providers of services.
Price: Sitra members £44.50 / Non-members £64.50
