Benefits and young people (half-day)

Staff new to working with young people who need to know what benefit a young person can claim. As this is only a half day session you will already need to have attended the basic benefits course or be familiar with the benefit system. This session will help you to:
- Understand the terminology used by the DWP when deciding on the benefits a young person can claim
- Know where to find the information you need
- Understand entitlement to JSA, ESA and housing benefits
- Be aware of the extension of child benefit to the age of 20 for those who are entitled to claim
