Westminster Society

The Westminster Society for people with learning disabilities mission is to provide quality services and create new opportunities for people with learning disabilities and their families in Westminster.

In partnership with RSL's and WCC we have developed a range of independent and shared spaces in the last three years which has increased housing options for people living locally. We have deregistered services where consultation has shown appropriateness of this opportunity, and worked on opportunities for Individual budgets to be promoted and managed within all supported living services. We offer outreach support through teams based locally to where people live and social and leisure events aimed at all ages and a variety of interest which include art, local interest, music, healthy living and information sharing.

We work in close partnership with Westminster City Council and other organisations either in the voluntary, public or private sector as both specialist and mainstream experts who support the aims of individuals and the organisation. This includes supporting employment opportunities through running information events, promotion of job opportunities within the organisation and externally, and through the monitoring of peoples desires for employment against actual employment through surveys and consultation events.
