About Local Strategic Partnerships
Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) are the umbrella body that comprises central government, local authorities and organisations in the private, public and voluntary sectors. They are responsible for delivering the priorities of the local area. These priorities are set out by the LSP and local authority in the Local Area Agreement (LAA), which acts as the mechanism for making these priorities a reality. The LAAs sets targets for the 2008-11 period; the long term strategic vision for the area is outlined in the Strategic Community Strategy, which the LSPs also have a responsibility for.
