New Horizons for housing related support seminar

Sitra and the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) held a joint seminar in London on 18 February 2010 designed to look at what the programme has achieved and how services can be planned commissioned and provided in the future to meet local priorities.

The seminar was attended by representations from the Fire Service, PCT, and local authority including Supporting People, social inclusion finance, partnerships and community development.  Speakers from Communities and Local Government (CLG), Department of Health, National Housing Federation (NHF), local authority Supporting People teams and Sitra gave presentations and ran workshops that enabled delegates to appreciate the challenges facing hosing related support.

During the day participants had an opportunity to look at how intelligent commissioning can ensure services span a number of agendas, how the value of housing related support can be demonstrated, how it can fit in with both local structures (LSPs and LAAs) and national agendas (for example PSA16).
